The Sisters of Mercy Health System, headquartered in St. Louis,
Missouri, sponsors hospitals, physician practices, health plans
and related health and human service operations in a seven-state
area. It is one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems
in the United States.
Mercy
Family Center
Mercy Family Center is an outpatient behavioral health clinic with
locations in the greater New Orleans area and on the Northshore.
Founded in 1992, Mercy Family Center serves children and families
from all parts of Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Psychiatrists,
psychologists and social workers offer a range of services including
individual and family counseling, psycho-educational testing, medication
management and behavioral consultation for parents and teachers. Mercy
Family Center is a primary referral site in New Orleans for the
identification and treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity
disorder (AD/HD) and autism spectrum disorders including PDD.

Advocacy Program
The Mississippi Health Advocacy Program (MHAP) strives to be a strong,
effective voice for improved healthcare throughout Mississippi,
especially those whose health is threatened by poverty, racism,
malnutrition and violence. The program works with communities
to identify health needs and formulate strategies for change and
researches, analyzes, proposes and promotes policies that enhance
the health status of every person, regardless of financial status.

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas are an international community
of Roman Catholic women vowed to serve people who suffer poverty,
sickness and ignorance, with a special concern for women and children. In
innovative and traditional ways they address human needs through
collaborative efforts in education, healthcare, housing and pastoral
and social service.
